No matter whether your coaxial application is in CCTV, on the tower, in GPS or at the cellular base station, the PTG coaxial RF surge protector offers you a complete solution. PTG's coaxial products are based on the SPD design concept, featuring high discharge capacity, low voltage protection level, low insertion loss and multiple connection ports.
The 1/4λ type SPD can also be regarded as a signal band-pass filter. It can only transmit signals within the specified frequency range (such as 800 MHz to 2.5 GHz or 2.0 GHz to 6.0 GHz). Since lightning interference has low-frequency characteristics, when lightning strikes or low-frequency surges occur, the SPD behaves as a short circuit and conducts the energy to the ground. Such SPDs are not designed as GDT, but their shock resistance and fast response time enable them to be widely used, and they are maintenance-free. The SPD's housing is directly grounded, and both ends are protected equally, making installation simpler.
Special note: This type of 1/4λ SPD is not suitable for coaxial cables with DC voltage, such as remote-mounted amplifiers or LNA.
